The following chart & notes give a colour-coded look at where agnosticism sits among 1. different schools of thought and belief, 2. philosophies which vied with skepticism & stoicism (the focus of his chapter), and 3. the bigger picture of ontology, epistemology, and the relation to philosophies to religions.
Please note that the Western religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) are included in the catch-all category “Theism.” Other types of Western and Middle Eastern thought, as well as Eastern religions, are listed separately.
